Welcome to Diary of an Eccentric! My name is Anna, and I’ve been blogging here since 2007. This is where I enjoy sharing my love of books, reading, and writing. I hope you’re here because you share the same passions!
You’ll see book reviews, book spotlights, excerpts, and giveaways, as well as author guest posts and interviews. If you’ve spent any time perusing my online Diary, you’ll see that I love Jane Austen and the fan fiction novels she has inspired, as well as fiction set during World War II. But really, I just enjoy a good story that lets me escape from the stresses of the real world for awhile and takes me on an adventure.
What should you know about me? By day, I am a senior editor and writer for an association management company. Occasionally, I take on freelance book editing projects, and if you are a fan of Jane Austen Fan Fiction, then you may have read some of the books I’ve had the pleasure of editing:
Alexa Adams’ The Madness of Mr. Darcy, Becoming Mrs. Norris, Darcy in Wonderland, I Am Lady Catherine, Mr. Darcy’s Christmas Present, Being Mrs. Bennet, Young Wickham, and The Ladies of Norland.
Victoria Kincaid’s The Secrets of Darcy and Elizabeth, Mr. Darcy to the Rescue, Pride and Proposals, Darcy’s Honor, Chaos Comes to Longbourn, When Mary Met the Colonel, Darcy vs. Bennet, A Very Darcy Christmas, President Darcy, Christmas at Darcy House, The Unforgettable Mr. Darcy, When Jane Got Angry, Darcy and Deception, Darcy in Hollywood, and When Charlotte Became Romantic, and Rebellion at Longbourn.
Rose Fairbanks’ No Cause to Repine, A Sense of Encouragement, Sufficient Encouragement, Love Lasts Longest, Once Upon a December, Mr. Darcy’s Miracle at Longbourn, Mr. Darcy’s Compassion, Mr. Darcy’s Bluestocking Bride (the upcoming reissue), Courtship at Rosings, Mr. Darcy’s Compassion; and Mr. Darcy’s Grieving Wife.
Sophia Meredith’s On Oakham Mount, Beyond Oakham Mount, and Miss Darcy’s Companion.
Barbara Silkstone’s Darcy’s Magical Message and Mister Darcy’s Maltese Falcon.
Christie Capps’ A Reason to Hope and Mischief & Mayhem.
Meanwhile, I am writing my first novel, which I will talk about here when I’m further along in the process. This means I am not reading as much or as quickly as I would like, but eventually posts about the novel-in-progress should keep me motivated to continue, and I hope my dear readers will cheer me on.
My favorite authors include Jane Austen (of course), Jill Mansell, Karen White, Anita Shreve, and Amy Tan. Some of my favorite books are Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, Emma, The Book Thief, and The Joy Luck Club (meaning these are the books that I re-read the most).
I hope you will share with me what books and authors you love as we take this exciting journey through the written word together!
Fondly,
Anna
