You had a good reading year! Are you planning on reading the rest of the Harry Potter books?

The Girl told me to say she definitely plans to read them all. She’s assembled much of her collection from the library sales, and Serena finished it off by giving her the Deathly Hallows for Christmas. She’s reading the second book, The Chamber of Secrets, right now.

For The Girl: I see some great reading there. And hope you review more of those.
I recommend Enid Blyton for you. Start wit the wishing chair series and go along. You will find great many books by her and love those. I know I did. I do. And I think I am yet to read a few by her.
Five-Find outers, Famous Five, St. Clair, Malory Towers and a few others are really good series. However, there is no problem reading those in any order.
A very Happy fun-filled reading year to you. And your mom and Dad too!
Love,
Gautami (from Delhi)

What a great year! I tried to get interested in the “Wimpy” series, but it didn’t do much for me as an adult. However, I could see that if I were ten I would love it also!!!

So true! I read one and it was funny enough but not sure I could read all of them.

I figured as much, too. She’s got the new Big Nate book to read now. I probably should have posted her Christmas books, but things were so crazy.

She had a great reading year. I don’t know what my daughter’s favorites would be if I asked her. Probably something Warriors. I’m starting to hate those cats.

I think I know what books you’re talking about. The Girl has a couple from the Seekers series, and I tried reading the first with her, but I couldn’t get into it. She likes it, so that’s all that matters.

They’re very popular at her school, too. She said she started the Origami Yoda trend in her school. She bought the book at the book fair and her friends all wanted to know what it was, then a bunch of them bought the book, too.

I had to check this out now that my son (a 1st grader) is all into these Wimpy Kid books. I thought they might be too difficult for him but he seems to follow along … and I think he’ll get more out them when he is a bit older and rereads them. I’ve been reading them too and they are fun.

They are fun, though I’ve only read one. Not sure whether I want to read the others, though. I think it’s great that your son is enjoying the books. The Girl recommended them to one of her friends who doesn’t read much, and she loves them, too.

Thanks! I was surprised to see that she read so many books because her latest thing is moving from book to book without finishing them. She really loves the idea of a new book and starting a new book, and she has so many good books to chose from that she just doesn’t know what to do. I have that problem sometimes, too. 😉

I have to say that I LOVED the Wimpy Kid book too! 🙂 And the Harry Potter books are my favorites! Will you be continuing the series?

She’s already reading the 2nd Harry Potter book. I’m sure she’ll finish them at some point, but she goes from book to book to book, just reading whatever she’s in the mood for at that moment.
