Me & The Girl

Welcome to Diary of an Eccentric!  My name is Anna, and I’ve been a bookworm for as long as I can remember.  I’ve loved the written word since I was a little girl, and I started writing poems and stories as soon as I could read and write.  In high school, I worked on the literary magazine and a newsletter for a local nursing home.  In college, I also worked on a literary magazine and ended up switching majors from Veterinary Technology to English, with a dream of becoming a college English professor (maybe someday).  I graduated from Suffolk University in Boston in 2000 with a B.A. in English and Sociology.

I started Diary of an Eccentric in 2007 as a knitting blog where I would occasionally talk about books.  I wanted to record my knitting projects, but I was always reading more than I was knitting, and I soon became immersed in the world of book blogging.

I share this online space with my 11-year-old daughter, known here as The Girl.  She shares my love of books and reading, and she enjoys reviewing books here when she’s not too busy with school.  She’s in 6th grade and loves historical fiction and humorous diary-type books.
