Welcome to another Mailbox Monday, the weekly meme hosted by Marcia from The Printed Page where book lovers share the titles they received for review, purchased, or otherwise obtained over the last week. Marcia has kindly hosted this meme for a long time, and this is the last month she’ll be hosting. I just wanted to thank Marcia for hosting and for offering to take Mailbox Monday on tour. Here’s what I received last week:
A Hidden Affair by Pam Jenoff, a surprise from Atria Books. I was so excited to find this in my mailbox. It’s the sequel to Almost Home (check out my review), which I enjoyed.
Ten years ago, U.S. State Department intelligence officer Jordan Weiss’s life was turned upside down when she was told her college boyfriend, Jared, drowned in the River Cam. In a shocking discovery, though, she realizes that things weren’t as they seemed and that she had been lied to and betrayed by those closest to her. Reeling from the shock — and the knowledge that Jared is still alive — Jordan resigns her State Department post and sets off in search of answers. Traveling to Jared’s last known whereabouts on the French Riviera, she encounters Nicole, a mysterious woman who flees after refusing to disclose what she knows about Jared.
Following Nicole across Europe, Jordan soon discovers that she is not alone in her pursuit— Aaron, a handsome and enigmatic Israeli, is chasing Nicole for his own cryptic reasons. Though distrustful of each other, Jordan and Aaron join forces on a journey that takes them half a world away, and only steps ahead of grave peril.
As Jordan draws closer to finding the answers that have eluded her for a decade, larger questions remain: Can she reconcile her attraction to Aaron with her unresolved feelings for Jared, the only man she ever loved? Will the truth be too devastating to handle or finally set her free?
Will she have a chance at happiness at last? Thrilling, romantic, and impossible to put down, A Hidden Affair gives us a brave and relentless heroine who never gives up on her search for the truth. (publisher’s summary)

Oh, no! I thought Almost Home was new and now you’re telling me I’m THIS far behind? Aaugh!
My bad! I thought Almost Home was new, too, but the blog tour I participated in a while back coincided with the paperback release.
Don’t you just love little surprises like this?
Do I ever! Serena called to tell me she’d received the book, and I was hoping I would, too, and two days later…
What a wonderful surprise! This sounds like such a good read too. Hope you enjoy it immensely. Have a great week!
I’m really looking forward to reading it. I’ve read all of Jenoff’s books (aside from this one, of course) and enjoyed them all.
I love the cover of this one. It looks like the girl in the picture is ready to kick some butt! Enjoy
And I bet she wouldn’t scuff her boots or mess up her hair while she’s kicking that butt! LOL
This sounds veery good!

Thanks, Gautami!
What a great surprise! I hope you enjoy it!
Me, too! I think I’ll bring it on my upcoming vacation and hopefully I’ll actually have some time to read.
Looks like a good read!
I have to agree with you.
Love those kind of surprises! I hope you enjoy it as much as you did the other one!
My mailbox is HERE.
I’m pretty confident I will, since I enjoyed all 3 of her other books.
I wonder if I have seen book 1 before, cos it does sound familiar
I’m sure you did, as there was a blog tour for Almost Home earlier this year.
OOoooh, lucky you! I sure hope a copy finds it way to my mailbox. I really enjoyed Almost Home too.
Dar, I hope you get the surprise package, too!
What a wonderful surprise! I enjoyed Almost Home, The Kommandant’s Girl and The Diplomat’s Wife. I’ll definitely have to read this one when it comes out too!
Another Jenoff fan! I really enjoyed all of those books, too!
Anna, both authored by Pam Jenoff went straight to the top of my list. I will look for them at my usual sources. The description of “A Hidden Affair” reminds me a lot of a book I really liked, “Jericho’s Fall” by Stephen L. Carter. I think you’ll like it too. Here’s my review.
I’ll definitely check out your review. Thanks for the recommendation.
I’m glad you got this little surprise too. does the title of your ARC differ from the title for the book?
Yup, my ARC was titled Hidden Things, but I figured they changed the title for the finished book because all I could find was A Hidden Affair.
Very cool surprise! The book sounds intriguing as well!
I love surprises like this. I can’t wait to read it.
I was not aware of this new Jenoff book; thanks so much and enjoy.
My pleasure! I hope you give it a try.
Now I want to read both of them!
Well, I can’t vouch for A Hidden Affair just yet, but I really liked Almost Home.
I have not heard of this author but think I would enjoy reading both books. Isn’t it like Christmas morning when books get delivered? I know it is for me.

I love opening the packages, but finding a place to put the books is another story.
I recommend Jenoff’s books. I’ve enjoyed all of the ones I’ve read thus far.
Sounds good! Thanks for stopping by yesterday!
You’re very welcome!
Yep, this one sounds really good. I wish I could read everything.
I wrote this one down.
Me, too. If only there were many more hours in the day. I have a list of books I want to read that’s 10 miles long!
